About Riseborough Estate Winery...

Only an hour from Perth, Riseborough Estate is a spacious modern
Winery / Cellar Door and Fine Art Gallery built on a hilltop
with spectacular views over the valleys of Gingin. It is located
on Petersen Rise off Mooliabeenie Road which connects the historic
towns of Gingin and Bindoon in the Chittering Valley.
The vineyard produces mainly red wines, consisting of twenty acres
of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Grenache
and Pinot Noir.
- First Vines planted in 1998
- First Vintage in 2002
Riseborough Estate is part of the Chittering Valley Wine Trail
and the Astronomers Abbots and Artists Trail. A Fine Art Gallery
has been established upstairs with interesting contemporary exhibitions
always on show.
Wonderful local specialities such as cheeses, olives, oils, tappenade
and dukkah are available from the gift shop, as well as ice creams
and soft drinks. Enjoy a picnic under the beautiful flowering gum
- taking in the stunning views whilst savouring a great drop!
Riseborough Estate reds are
made from grapes estate grown in Gingin to reduce yield and maximise
flavours. They are then harvested and sent in the cool of the
night to the winemakers at Flying Fish Cove in Margaret River.
Their expertise has resulted in some outstanding wines, which
include Gold Medal and Trophy winning Cabernet Sauvignon and
Shirazs, as well as some softer but equally delicious styles
of Merlot/Cabernet France blends and Grenaches.
To compliment these is a Grenache Rose, also made by Flying
Fish Cove, and a sparkling Pinot Chardonnay made by Bella Ridge
in the Swan Valley.
Small quantities of Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc and Verdellho are
also produced from locally grown fruit.
Prices range from $8 - $14 per bottle for the red and white
wines
